Of the various issues with Windows Vista coming to light, I find the music compatibility issue most astounding. Sure, no surprise that Apple (http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/apple/apple-on-itunes-vista-issues-just-dont-get-vista-233718.php) suggested to iTunes users that they buy Macs to avoid any Vista-compatibility issues. A bit strange that some PlaysForSure partners (http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/portable-media/vista-not-quite-working-with-some-mp3-players-234119.php), like Samsung, are reporting not all their players play with certainty on Vista. But what is truly baffling is James Kendrick's (http://jkontherun.blogs.com/jkontherun/2007/02/i_upgraded_to_v.html) struggle to play Zune purchased music on his P1610 now running Vista. One would think Microsoft would have made their own software work with their own DRM. WTF?

What's up with Vista and music?

  1. I am IT guy. I know there are some die-hard microsoft fans out there and more power to you, but with the whole vista thing... Are you surprised? It IS Microsoft, the company that has no competition because they just buy everyone out so they don't actually have to come up with an outstanding product.

I have computers rolling in everyday now with vista problems.

I have a zune player, and have issues with it on XP alone. The software is chock full of bugs.

Oh, and how do you like that you can't pull your music back off your zune player without a big battle?

  2. Oh man, I certainly wouldn't want to be an IT guy this year. Good luck to you... you definitely need it.
