IT guys at work have been making rounds this week, making sure each PC is updated for the DST (http://sumocat.blogspot.com/2006/10/i-hate-daylight-savings-time.html) switch this weekend, which is now three weeks earlier (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070309/ap_on_hi_te/daylight_saving_bug_6). And apparently, not all the updates are working properly. There's a real danger that people will have to switch their clocks manually.
But seriously, why all the drama? Why is it so difficult to change clock settings to fit the new DST? And why do we tolerate this outdated clock shifting practice? DST lasts for most of the year now anyway. Let's just leave it all year long. Better yet, let's just do things an hour earlier! Not that hard, people! |
