I have a good amount of video and photos from my successful search for free wifi in Waikiki. However, I probably wont have time to edit and post it until after I get back home. That's the bad news.

The good news is it will include video from Waikiki beach, the finish line of the Honolulu Marathon, and me eating Shave Ice (http://onokinegrindz.typepad.com/ono_kine_grindz/2004/10/waiola_bakery_s.html). Also includes screencasts of Google Maps (http://maps.google.com/) view of the area and tests from Speedtest.net (http://www.speedtest.net/), as well as a selection of photos.

Not sure what other videos I might do. Might do a walk around Kaneohe town or head back to Kailua for a proper review of Skywave's (https://skywave-as-1.skywavebroadband.net/skywave/hotspots.php) service. Also discovered a portable broadband solution called Clearwire (http://www.clearwire.com/company/facts.php). Uses WiMax to provide connectivity any where in their service area through a portable plug-in modem. Actually, I think I'll hop over to their kiosk now.

  1. Clearwire sounds like a nice solution. Thanks for recommending it.

  2. I've read a few of your posts on your visit to Hawaii... I have to ask.

WHY??? Why are you checking out the wifi cloud when you're on vacation visiting family & such?

  3. Nevermind my why question above... I just finished reading 6 or so of your recents posts & now I understand. Do you experience withdrawal symptoms after a few hours or does it take days? *grin* Really enjoying your blog btw.

  4. Actually, I specifically noted in another post that this was not a vaction. Exact phrase: non-vacation trip. And I spent maybe a combined total of half a day going around getting photos and videos, plus another few hours on the Internet. The rest of the week was with the family and believe me, I spent a lot less time with them than that when I was still living there.
