One thing that truly baffles me about this Foley page scandal are the calls to "fix" the Congressional Page Program. In particular, Rep. Ray LaHood (http://www.alternet.org/blogs/peek/42607/), a Republican, has stated the program should be suspended pending a review. Others have likewise called for increased protection. Well, protection from who? Congress? Isn't it their job to protect us? Aren't we trusting them to protect us from terrorists? Why then do our children need protection against them?

Seriously, if this is the case, if teenagers cannot mingle safely with our members of Congress, perhaps the Page program isn't the system in need of an overhaul.

Pages need protection from Congress?

  1. Why, protection from the National American Man-Boy Love Association, or Congress. Obviously :P
