HP's tx2 Tablet PC will be awesome... maybe
HP announced their latest Tablet PC (http://www.gottabemobile.com/2008/11/18/hp-announces-the-touchsmart-tx2-multi-touch-tablet-pc/) today, and it looks like another rock-solid mix of features, performance, and affordability... maybe. For the most part, it's a refresh of HP's consumer tx2000 series, which features both touch and pen input. The tx2 steps that up by offering capacitive multi-touch, like that of the iPhone. It's a welcomed improvement... maybe.
Sorry for my hesitation, but my enthusiasm was dampened when I learned HP would be using N-Trig's digitizer for the multi-touch screen. I personally have nothing against N-Trig but given the problems people are having with the N-Trig digitizer in the Dell XT (http://sumocat.blogspot.com/2008/10/quite-indictment-against-dell-latitude.html), it's hard not to be wary.
Still, HP's TouchSmart line has done well. If they can get their multi-touch desktop working right, I'm sure they can get their multi-touch notebook working.

Wow. This is impressive. What do you use to create and post your entries? Thanks! (text entered with ritePen)

Thanks. I ink everything in Windows Journal, grab the pages with Inkseine's ring tool, format the JPGs in Paint.NET, upload via ftp using FireZilla, arrange the hyperlinks using my own web app called Build 52, and finally post via Blogger.
It's actually far less cumbersome than it sounds. Brief video demo can be found here:

Coincidentally, the video is part of a demo of how I use ritePen, which is a vital part of my ink blogging process since it enables me to quickly launch apps and commands via the pen. Since you're using ritePen, this video could be doubly useful to you.

Thank You! Looks like nircmd will take a little learning, but that's always fun. Inkseine dev seems to be a bit stalled. Too bad, as it seems like a promising concept. (Though I noticed you personally favored the tool ring) Thanks again for the persistence. Ink is still in its infancy, IMHO. I look forward much more progress in coming years.
