Had three entries written up about the great Halloween festivities at SNM (http://www.snm.org/). Unfortunately, they were consigned to the digital abyss when my tablet's hard drive failed that night.
Not exactly sure what happened. At first, I thought it was a physical crash because the data seemed inaccessible. I started eyeing replacements and asked the GBM forum (http://www.gottabemobile.com/) for advice on upgrading. But for the heck of it, I tried restoring the drive from a backup image, and it worked!
So over the weekend, I shuffled my data around, moving my latest backup image and document backup from the network drive to my USB drive, and restored my tablet to its condition from three days before the failure. So far, so good, but I'm still interested in a backup hard drive just in case. |
