Glad I skipped the debate
I went to bed early last night and missed the Obama-McCain debate (http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/07/presidential.debate.transcript/). Glad I did because I felt great this morning. I should set a mid-week early bed night every week.
On the other hand, I did miss what is being widely recognized as a slim win for Obama, but the news only improves my elation this wonderful morning. Bet McCain's not feeling as good though. Generally, when you challenge an opponent to face you on your own battleground, in this case a town hall-style setting, you're supposed to win.
Anyway, I did skim through the transcript (http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/07/presidential.debate.transcript/), in addition to reading reactions. It looks to me like Obama, having taken his measure of McCain, has stepped up the offense and is mixing up his tactics, scoring some points as a result.
As for McCain, well, one person I know is thinking about voting for him because he looked so feeble that she feels sorry for him. So he did sway at least one undecided voter last night. If he walks out using a cane or walker next time, he could cement her vote. Probably not good for his "warrior" image though, but maybe Palin can carry around a rifle to balance him out.
