iPhone: Can I wait for a refurb?
Now that the iPhone 3G (http://www.apple.com/iphone/), 2.0 software, and official applications are here, everyone seems super excited about it all. Me too, except I'd been anticipating all this for the past year, so the thrill of new has passed, allowing me to retain a metered rational outlook.
On the other hand, after a year of waiting, I'm not really in the mood to wait any longer. 3G, third-party apps, subsidized pricing, the elements I knew were coming are now here. So what's stopping me? I know refurbs and maybe a storage upgrade will be available in a few months.
On the other hand, the price cut on a refurbs wouldn't be that steep, and I get by pretty well with my 4GB iPod Nano (http://sumocat.blogspot.com/2006/12/seeing-red-this-x-mas.html). Also, I could upgrade later and hand my iPhone down to Tanya. Yep, looks pretty likely I'll have an iPhone in my hands soon.
