Tablet PCs: Handwriting enables mobility
John Hill, owner of Allegiance Technology Partners (http://www.alltp.com/) and TabletPCBuzz.com (http://www.tabletpcbuzz.com/), published a commentary on GottaBeMobile.com (http://www.gottabemobile.com/Tablet+PCs+Is+It+All+About+QuotFeeds+And+Speedsquot+Or+QuotDollars+And+Centsquot.aspx) that pressed the point that Tablet PCs are about mobility, not handwriting. I could not agree more!
But wait, shouldn't the blogger who's all about handwriting and Ink Command (http://sumocat.blogspot.com/search?q=%22ink+command%22) be on the other side of that issue? Probably, but it's not a one-or-the-other issue to me. I firmly believe mobility is the goal and handwriting is a means to that end.
Back when I was temping. I regularly enjoyed lunch out and about (http://sumocat.blogspot.com/search?q=lunch+outside), scribing my thoughts in my trusty tablet. My tablet vacation adventures (http://sumocat.blogspot.com/search/label/Hawaii%20Ink) are documented. At home I'm able to scribble away in any room, no matter where or how I'm seated. The Tablet PC form factor offers me tremendous mobility, and ink is critical to making that mobility a reality.
