Ink + hyperlinks + searchable text + multimedia = Sumocat's Scribbles. Partly a "proof of concept", partly an exploration into the capabilities of the True Notebook computer known as the Tablet PC, entirely a waste of time, unless you are interested in reading, hearing, or seeing my thoughts about the True Notebook (Tablet PC), politics, culture, and whatever else crosses my path. |
About MeKnown throughout the Tabletscape as the "Father of Ink Blogging", Sumocat spills ink as part of an open-ended experiment in this new field of ink blogging. Armed with his convertible Toshiba R25 (a True Notebook a.k.a. Tablet PC), he evangelizes the cause of ink blogging through word and deed. Only when ink stains every corner of the Inkernet will the Sumocat find respite. And if you be not a friend of the pen nor a knight of the stylus, beware... for you have reason to fear the Sumocat. |

OMG That is cool! At first I thought it was like the slideshow feature at slide.com, but now that I've downloaded it (after a lengthy .net framework 3.0 install) I'm really enjoying it! Kind of like the Tablet PC snip tool, but better. Thanks for blogging this Sumocat! :)

A lot of commenters at Lifehacker, where I saw it, don't seem to get it. They counter with more advanced and complicated apps, but it really is the simplicity of Ript that makes it work. I hope to keep on using it. Even started a new label/category for all my Ript entries.

This app is SPYWARE read the TOS/ULA it is actually worse than spyware because it makes it legal to secretly steal your intellectual property. Any thing your put in there now belongs to them. I would NEVER install this...I almost did thank god a read the agreement first.

bitburner: First, even if that's in the EULA, it doesn't make it so. Ript's main feature is to store images from the web, which the user doesn't own and therefore cannot transfer ownership. Second, that wouldn't make it spyware. Ript has been certified by Download.com and Softpedia.
