Who's building Links in Ink with Build 52?

13 Comments:

  1. Are you using Vista yet? I just got a few copies of Vista Prem. and I'm going to roll my tablet to it to try out the new stuff.

If it's good, I may get a Vista tablet... I know this much: I dig Aero.

    OneNote 2007 looks nice, too.

  2. Thanks for the shout out! I need some help though. How do I get the format of the links to go clear with no color at all?

  3. Brad: Not riding the Vista train yet and no plans to do so yet. Started using Office 2007 though. Haven't gone full steam with it yet.

iDorkas: I will be adding an option to drop the borders. Putting the transparency back is another possibility, but it adds a lot of code to the posts... or I could do that externally, like the previous version. I'll think about that a little more.

  5. Hey Achim, I didn't realize you had tried Build 52 because Google translator, which I use to read your blog, cancels out the Links in Ink. I will have to keep that in mind.

  6. This is a stupid question, I know. I can't get image to show on the left hand side of the browser. I'm using IE, trying to pull an image (jpg) off of Flickr. I load the url, hit return, the url goes away and I'm still left with the little icon. Aargh. I figure it is just a setting in my security somewhere or a plug-in I'm missing? Help?

  7. walker: Don't hit return. Just paste the URL in the box and tap somewhere else. Hitting enter refreshes the page (or triggers "refresh and reset"). I'll see about changing that.

  8. hi Sumocat! Great app! I've been trying to get it to work , but strange things happen when i view my posts in firefox.... Links work fine, but the effects do not. And I can't for the life of me find out why the show/ hide text only hides the first line. Any idea? thanks!

  9. mobilelibrary: I think I spotted the culprit. Each of your links has the attribute "rel=lightbox[28]" added to the image tag. I'm not sure what Lightbox does, but I understand it arranges images in some way. I suspect it is overriding the built-in arrangement and wiping them out in Firefox. (The links still work because there a redundant image map is included.) Try removing this attribute and see if it works.

  10. hi again-disabled all plugins but no.... Anyway, i'm happy for now. The blog is still waiting to be set up properly, so I'll do the serious debugging once I've got the new theme up + running. Thanks!

  11. mobilelibrary: Turning off the plug-ins should stop adding the "rel" attribute to the tags, but it does not remove them from existing posts. They are still there and so is the Lightbox script. We'll see if your next ink post works.

  12. Hey, Sumocat! I've just tried Build 52 over on my blog and I gotta say - it's pretty great. I've been steadily (and slowly) working through all the little bits and pieces of ink blogging and having links was definitely one of them. I'll have to try the Build 52 Hide/Show Text thingy next.

    Thanks for the great program.

  13. SpaceMonkey! Glad you like Build 52. I appreciate you letting me know. Also, it looks like you've been ink blogging for a few months without being noticed. I'll have to rectify that. ;)
