Did Obama invent the Internet?

4 Comments:

  1. Al Gore said he "took the initiative in creating the Internet." Not quite the same in meaning, but just as dishonest a statement as if he had said "invented."

  2. First, the meaning is quite different. Second, he did take the initiative in creating the Internet. The High Performance Computing and Communication Act of 1991, a.k.a. The Gore Bill, is a key piece of legislation that led to the Internet, which he crafted working alongside the actual architects of the Internet. Nothing dishonest about stating a fact.

  3. Just like how because of a SNL skit people have come to believe that Dubya actually used the word "Strategery"

  4. The difference being the SNL skit was not done maliciously and poked fun equally at his then-opponent Al "lock box" Gore. Still, I'm not pleased "strategery" took root when there are so many dumb things he actually said.
