Been thinking about nothing but the iPad (http://www.apple.com/ipad/) since Wednesday. Looks fantastic. Coming to market with guaranteed store space and strong application support, far more than the Tablet PC ever had. Should sell better than any tablet before it, which unfortunately doesn't say a lot.
That said, don't expect iPad entries to grace the digital pages here. It looks like a great touchscreen device, but it lacks the active pen input that is needed to craft the beautifully penned entries you see here. Unless they change that in the next version (or if there's a software solution), Scribbles on an iPad can't happen. [+/-] Hide/Show Text [+/-] Hide/Show Text
Year is shaping up to be quite stressful and it's only January. So the latest event was Homer's health scare (http://sumocat.blogspot.com/2010/01/homer-in-hospital.html). He's back home recovering now, but we've got a lot of medication to administer and he's squeezing out urine left and right. Causing blood pressure to rise around here. However, the important thing is he's passing it through his system and should be back to normal soon (and that can't happen soon enough). [+/-] Hide/Show Text [+/-] Hide/Show Text
Another year, another day dedicated to penmanship. Yep, January 23rd, the birthday of John Hancock, is National Handwriting Day (http://www.wima.org/NationalHandwritingDay/tabid/79/Default.aspx), as designated by WIMA Here's hoping eReaders with pen input and perhaps the mythic Apple tablet will renew interest in digital ink and handwriting. Our littlest cat Homer was acting oddly this morning, disappearing at breakfast. He ate well enough when he showed up, but following a hunch, Tanya put him in the litter box to see his reaction. He assumed his usual position, sitting upright with his front paws on the edge of the box, but nothing happened. We determined he had a urinary block, which requires immediate action, so off to the vet we went.
Homer was drained and is recovering at the hospital tonight through tomorrow. He looked awfully miserable in the cage through, all doped up. Barely seemed to recognize us, but he sure looked sad when we left. Definitely need to treat him right when we bring him home. [+/-] Hide/Show Text [+/-] Hide/Show Text
As made clear in my previous posts about the topic, I love the new Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. I am watching it almost daily on Hulu, which unfortunately does not help his ratings, but I never watched Jay Leno on any platform. Conan wants to host The Tonight Show. Jay only cares about doing his show. I'm with Coco. [+/-] Hide/Show Text [+/-] Hide/Show Text
Well, if you've been following my other feeds, you know I've been covering the Consumer Electronics Show for GottaBeMobile. Sorry for not spilling any ink on the subject beforehand. Aside from trip prep, I was also busy putting out a New Year letter. During the trip, I tried tossing out a note a couple of times, but I'm still not done with my GBM reporting on the event, let alone my personal blogging. Instant mobile blogging from my iPhone was all I could squeeze out.
Of course, being back doesn't mean my time is once again my own. I have a week of work to catch up with and only a couple days to do it; I will be away for a less festive event on Thursday and Friday. I should be able to scribble down my thoughts then and that's followed by a three-day weekend. Hope to use it to get back on track. [+/-] Hide/Show Text [+/-] Hide/Show Text

Happy new year. Made a "turkey" dinner last night with enough for leftovers today. Great start to the last year of the decade. No, it's not a new decade yet. I don't count from zero. [+/-] Hide/Show Text [+/-] Hide/Show Text
