TigerDirect.com must pay copywriters by the word
So I got this email ad (http://www.tigerdirect.com/email/wem1817.asp?cm_re=Homepage-_-Spot%2001-_-email_wem1817) from TigerDirect.com (http://www.tigerdirect.com/) today. It started off really good. The headline product is a 19" swivel LCD monitor with 1440 x 900 resolution. Would make a great complement to my 14" tablet with rotating screen and the same resolution. But I don't really need an extra monitor.
So I scrolled down to read the rest of the email. And down. And down. And down. And down. And then I realized this is the longest f---ing email ad I'd ever seen.
OMFG! What was the plan here? Give the reader a reason to use a really tall screen? Buy this swivel LCD so you can fit something this long on the screen? Good idea, plus I'd need four of these monitors to see the entire email, so you're working the upsell too. Oh well, at least you got some blog love out of it.
