More than 100,000 AK-47's on the loose

A while back I blogged (http://sumocat.blogspot.com/2006/11/ak-47-true-weapon-of-mass-destruction.html) about a fascinating story about how the AK-47 changed the world (http://tinyurl.com/yxv65t). Well, the AK is back. Wait, did I say back? I meant gone. More accurately, missing, as in more than 100,000 of them are unaccounted in Iraq (http://tinyurl.com/2sjxrq). The Pentagon knows they were handed out; they just don't know where they are now. So, we flooded Iraq with thousands of weapons, lost track of 30% of them, and somehow there are armed insurgents in Iraq. Quite a mystery.
