Patty's Watching You

  1. Hi Sumocat. Found your blog searching for the keywords "electrovaya gimp". Nice idea to use the scribbler to blog. How the heall do you put links in ink??

I have a scribbler from electrovaya that I love (mainly to edit the documents from my students). I am also using it to draw a bit using journal. I was told that I should be able to download some drivers to make the pen less sluggish under THE GIMP, but I had no luck with that. Do you have any pointer to suggest?

  2. Hey, I'm at the top of the matches for "electrovaya gimp"! As the kids say: that's so random. Very interesting that the old archive pages use my previous template. Must be because I switched the archive from weekly to monthly. Interesting.

Anyway, the Links in Ink are the product of Build 52, a little HTML/Javascript tool I whipped up to generate the code for Links in Ink using a graphical interface. Should work with any blog where you can modify the HTML, but only tests have been with Blogger. The announcement page is here: http://sumocat.blogspot.com/2006/07/build-52-is-go.html

Re: pen sluggishness with The GIMP, I have the same problem, also using the updated Wacom driver. Something to do with the resolution I think. When I zoom in very close, the cursor moves smoothly and pressure sensitivity is spot-on. But the further out I go, the slower it gets. Here's a little graphic I modified with The GIMP. Zoomed in at least 200%. Airbrush is smooth, but pencil is a little rough. http://www.geocities.com/msumimoto/mahoro.jpg
