How Are Tablets Doing In Penmanship?
Ran across a brief piece at TIME asking "Is It The End for Handwriting? Are Tablets Doing In Penmanship?" (http://techland.time.com/2013/04/16/is-it-the-end-for-handwriting-are-tablets-doing-penmanship-in/) The premise is that handwriting and penmanship are being forgotten in the digital age, and certainly that is irrefutable at this stage. But how are tablets to blame for that? Tablets are the one form factor on which you can reasonably practice your handwriting (as I am doing right here). You want to blame something, blame the keyboard. Be they two-handed desk keyboards or small on-screen thumb boards, these are the devices killing penmanship. Sure, tablets have keyboards too, but at least they offer reasonable means of practicing your handwriting. Whether you do is entirely your choice.
