The real Sumocat does not Twitter
With all the chatter this week about Twitter (http://twitter.com/), I thought I should check to see if any Sumocats (and yes, there are others) were on it. Sure enough, there's a Sumocat in Germany (http://twitter.com/sumocat) who's claimed the Sumocat sub-domain. In case it's not clear, he is not me.
I did consider joining Twitter (http://sumocat.blogspot.com/2008/07/so-why-not-twitter.html) to do my sideblog (http://sumocats.blogspot.com/), but ultimately did not want to buy into the format restriction. IM-style presentation, and separate social network. Thought about claiming my name in case I changed my mind, but I thought I'd let someone else put it to real use and he has. So basically you can count this Sumocat in the same crowd as Jon Stewart (http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=219519&title=twitter-frenzy) and others who don't get the big deal (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/william-bradley/the-trouble-with-twitter_b_172366.html), but won't be part of the mass desertion after the Twittering members of Congress (http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2009-02-27/twitter-jumped-the-shark-this-week/) make it terminally uncool.
