Took a look at the nominees for the 2009 Weblog Awards, aka The Bloggies (http://2009.bloggies.com/). Of particular interest to me were the picks for best design. Very disappointing. There's one I really like (http://www.designspongeonline.com/). Another is impressively sleek (http://smittenkitchen.com/). But the other three look like any number of other blogs out there. I've seen much better in previous years, or at least more of them. Hardly as inspiring as it's been in years past. I may have to clean up my blog and take a run at it next year.
