Scribbles hits 1,000!
According to my Blogger dashboard, my last entry (http://sumocat.blogspot.com/2008/04/hacking-price-of-iphone.html) put my post count at 1,000!
The blog has come a long way since that first concept post (http://sumocat.blogspot.com/2005/07/concept-blog-post.html) in the TicTac blog template. For one, my handwriting looks less crap. For another, I finally built a killer template.
But I guess the most important change is the creation and refinement of Build 52 (http://sumocat.blogspot.com/search/label/Build%2052), which is the key to accomplishing a core goal of the blog: overcoming the main criticisms of ink blogging. First, it lets me include the converted text of my entries. making it searchable while also hiding these rigid words. Second, it provides Links in Ink with redundant backups that make my ink more hyperlinked than normal text blogs. And considering how my entries show up in image searches, as well as normal web searches, Scribbles doesn't merely match normal blogs in link power; it surpasses them.
And now with the 1,000th entry on my almost exclusively inked blog, I think it's finally safe to say the experiment has proven that ink is a viable means of blogging. Here's hoping this new entry is just the first in the next thousand. And who know? Maybe I'll give that old fashioned text blogging another try and show you how well I can write when I'm not letting my chosen format hold me back.
